 Gabe Plotkin founded Tallwoods Capital LLC in 2022 and serves as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. Tallwoods Capital is a Miami Beach-based family office that focuses on long term investments predominantly in the equities market as well as private investments in the consumer sector.  Of note, Gabe is a board member of privately held Just Salad and Bamboo Sushi.  Previously, Plotkin was the CIO and founder of Melvin Capital, a hedge fund that focused on consumer and technology stocks. The fund peaked at over $13 billion in assets under management with industry leading gross returns of 45% annually from 2015-2020. Prior to Melvin Capital, Plotkin was a leading portfolio manager at SAC Capital. Gabe graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University with a BA in Economics. Gabe plays an active role as a Co-Chairman and rotating Governor of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. Mr. Plotkin lives in Miami with his wife and four children. He and his wife are active in numerous philanthropies including Children of Fallen Patriots where he serves as a board member.
