 Gabe Plotkin is the founder and managing partner of Tallwoods Capital and serves as the family office’s Chief Investment Officer. Prior to Tallwoods Mr. Plotkin was the Founder and CIO of Melvin Capital Management a multi-billion equity long short fund. He joined Melvin from Sigma Capital, a division of S.A.C. Capital Advisors, L.P., where he worked for eight years, most recently as a portfolio manager overseeing a $1.8 billion portfolio of public equity investments in consumer-facing industries. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Plotkin was a Managing Director at Connecticut-based North Sound Capital where he oversaw investments in the consumer sector. He began his career in 2001 at Henry Crown and Company as a Private Equity Analyst where he evaluated process improvements in the equities business. Mr. Plotkin graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University with a BA in Economics. Mr. Plotkin lives with his wife and four children in Miami, Florida.
